The Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers (MAAF) and other organizations and individuals remind us to honor ALL veterans.\u00a0 People who serve our country are of all faith and non-faith perspectives.<\/li><li><strong>11\/13 &#8211;<\/strong> <strong>World Kindness Day<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 It is an international observance\u00a0 introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, a coalition of nations kindness NGOs.\u00a0 Learn more from the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theworldkindnessmovement.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">World Kindness Movement<\/a>\u00a0or visit\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/wavesofkindness.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">wavesofkindness.org<\/a><\/li><li><strong>11\/15 &#8211; National Philanthropy\u00a0 Day<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Celebrated annually, this day is a signature event of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).\u00a0 Philanthropy means the love of humankind; this day celebrates people of the world who come together to both (1) put that word into action and (2) recognize the change that word has brought to our communities. Volunteering is a great way for kids and adults to bond, make new friends, develop compassion for their neighbors, and even pick up a new skill or two! A Fibonacci sequence is a series of integers where a each is the sum of the two preceding it. What a great day to engage youth in pattern activities using the Fibonacci numbers, including tile square puzzles and spiral building.<\/li><li><strong>3rd Thursday &#8211;<\/strong> <strong>Thanksgiving<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Although having roots in religious traditions as a time to give thanks to a supernatural entity for the harvest, this is celebrated as a secular holiday as well.
